To excel in this role, you must have a deep understanding of the political landscape, excellent writing and communication skills, and a proven track record of managing and mentoring a team. Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for White House and Capitol Hill reporting that aligns with WarnerMedia's values and goals. Lead a team of reporters and journalists, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely reporting. Stay up-to-date with political developments and events, and identify key stories and angles that will resonate with our audience. Build and maintain relationships with key sources and contacts in the political arena to ensure access and exclusive information. Write and edit news stories, articles, and op-eds on White House and Capitol Hill events and issues, adhering to high journalistic standards. Collaborate with other departments and teams within WarnerMedia to ensure cross-platform coverage and promotion of political news content. Monitor audience engagement and feedback, and use data and analytics to inform decision-making and improve reporting strategies. Represent WarnerMedia at political events, conferences, and on media platforms, acting as a spokesperson for the company. Stay compliant with ethical and legal standards in journalism, including accuracy, fairness, and objectivity. Continuously evaluate and improve the team's performance, providing feedback, training, and resources as needed. Stay informed on industry trends and best practices, and make recommendations for innovation and growth in the political reporting field.
