Oncology RN Case Manager - Remote

Overview

Oncology RN Case Manager - Remote at Optum. Telephonic Oncology Case Manager RN supporting the Oncology member population with education, advocacy, and connections to resources to help members feel better and get well. This role is remote within the U.S. and may affect millions through efficient and compassionate care coordination.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Making outbound calls to assess patient\\\'s current health status
  • Identifying gaps or barriers in treatment plans
  • Interacting with Medical Directors on challenging cases
  • Providing patient education to assist with self-management
  • Coordinating care for members
  • Encouraging members to make healthy lifestyle changes
  • Documenting and tracking findings
  • Educating members on disease processes
  • Making post-discharge calls to ensure discharged members receive necessary services and resources
  • Utilization management by evaluating the appropriateness and efficiency of requested health care services, procedures, and cancer treatments under the applicable health benefits plan

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted RN license
  • Multiple state nursing licenses (or ability to obtain) in addition to Compact license if applicable
  • 3+ years of recent Oncology experience in a hospital setting, acute care, direct care, or as an Oncology Telephonic Case Manager for an insurance company
  • Recent chemotherapy administration experience
  • Computer proficiency with solid data entry skills and Windows navigation
  • Access to high-speed internet from home
  • Dedicated workspace for home office

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN
  • OCN Certification
  • Chemo Administration Certification
  • Certified Case Manager (CCM)
  • Background in managed care
  • Case or disease management experience
  • Experience or exposure with discharge planning
  • Remote work adherence to UnitedHealth Group\\\'s Telecommuter Policy

Additional Details

Core hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm in your time zone, with one late night per week until 7:00pm. Remote work from anywhere in the U.S. Salary range: $58,800–$105,000 annually (full-time). Benefits, incentives, and 401k contributions are available per eligibility. Job posting may stay open for a minimum of 2 business days or longer depending on candidate volume.
